I have been thinking about how to best utilize kinetic energy in our daily lives. Probably most people got their first kinetic led flash lights for xmass this year - i got 2 and gave 3! Anyway, my thoughts have been focused on the plethora of chargers we need nowadays to charge up our cellphones, ipods, psps, etc… If you can charge an LED flash light why not charge your phone? We should not depend on electrical outlets if we are able to transfer unused kinetic energy and put it to a good use.

What I would like to see in the coming years is a kinetic gadget that will eliminate the need for conventional chargers. By strapping it to your arm, leg or simply nestling it in your pocket, this green device will maintain all of your portable electronics energized. The idea being that we create energy by moving our body parts but once it is used it gets dissipated into thin air. This green charger will transfer the energy generated by our muscles and converted in 9volt current.

Maybe there are engineers out there that can give me a better understanding on how this could be done. I have seen some instances of this technology, but take a look a this industrial designer’s vision. That’s what I am talking about!
